Smooth an ARP Accent

Sometimes an accent is exactly right rhythmically but much too abrupt as modulation. PROC can fix that without changing the ARP pattern.

Patch

ARP ACC → PROC → VCF FREQ

1. Create or use an ARP pattern and enable ACC.
2. Route the ARP accent output into PROC.
3. Select the SLEW engine in PROC.
4. Route PROC's output to VCF FREQ.
5. Increase the slew amount/time until the filter movement stops sounding like it has been pushed down the stairs.
6. Adjust MIX if you want some of the original sharper movement back.

What to listen for

Too little slew leaves the accent clicky or abrupt. Too much turns the rhythmic accent into a slow filter drift. The useful setting is usually somewhere between those two, which is annoyingly often how synthesizers work.
