Animated PWM-Style Pad

A pad becomes interesting when something changes while the chord is held. Slow waveform or shape movement, gentle filtering and long envelopes can create that motion without turning the patch into obvious vibrato.

Build it

Start with a polyphonic voice, use a waveform/engine that offers a useful shape parameter, and modulate it slowly. Add a long attack/release envelope and subtle filter movement.

What to listen for

The movement should be noticeable after several seconds, not necessarily after every LFO cycle. Try different modulation rates on different parameters rather than making the entire patch breathe in lockstep.
